Dr. Russell Brant joined Sumter Family Health Center’s (SFHC’s) staff in 1996 and has served as SFHC’s Medical Director since 2002. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and received his doctorate of medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. Prior to his employment at SFHC, Dr. Brant was a staff physician at Tuomey Medical Park, and also worked in Lancaster and Kershaw Counties. Dr. Brant and his wife reside in Camden, SC, and have four children and two grandchildren.
Dr. Donna Mizelle joined SFHC’s staff in 2008, and serves as a SFHC part-time provider at Pinewood Health Center, a division of SFHC. Dr. Mizelle is Board Certified in Family Medicine and received her undergraduate degree from Campbell University. She received her doctorate of medicine from Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Dr. Mizelle completed her Family Practice residency program in Greenwood, SC. Prior to her employment with the center, Dr. Mizelle worked at Benson Medical Center in NC. Dr. Mizelle is originally from Greensboro NC. She and her husband reside in Sumter with their two daughters and son.
Dr. Katherine M. Saunders is a Family and Pediatric nurse practitioner employed at the Sumter Family Health Center. Her past experience includes forensic medicine for the past 17 years. She has also practiced in area primary family practices and pediatrics. She has performed medical examinations on abused children, testified in court as an expert in the field of child abuse, and participated as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team for twelve counties in the State. She has worked closely with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing and local legislative liaisons regarding issues of maltreatment. Katherine has been instrumental in facilitating the medical components of child abuse centers in several counties in South Carolina. Currently, Katherine is pursuing her career in family practice at the Pinewood site of the Sumter Family Health Center and as a grant facilitator for the organization. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree of Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Richie joined SFHC’s staff in the spring of 2015. Richie is a SFHC Family Nurse Practitioner serving the family practice patients at Sumter Family Health Center. He received his Master’s Degree in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner and his Bachelors in Nursing from South University. He resides in Sumter with his wife and two children.
Jessica Fralick is a Family Nurse Practitioner employed at the Sumter Family Health Center. She is a Sumter native. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She is also board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Jessica worked as an orthopedic nurse at Roper St. Francis and a pediatric and medical-surgical nurse at Tuomey prior to coming to SFHC. Jessica, her husband and their two dogs reside in Sumter.
Ebony joined SFHC’s staff in May 2015. She is a board certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) serving Sumter Family Health Center’s adult and adolescent patients. A native of Asheville, NC, Ebony graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology. She completed her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. She enjoys traveling, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her nieces..
Dr. Richard Wall joined the Sumter Family Health Center staff in the spring of 2016. Previously, he was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. Dr. Wall received his Bachelors of Science from the US Naval Academy, Masters of Engineering from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and was designated a Naval Aviator in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft after completion of pilot training in Pensacola, FL. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and received his Doctorate of Medicine from MUSC after a 20 year career as a helicopter pilot and engineer in the US Navy. Dr. Wall recognizes the power of diet and healthy lifestyles to prevent medical problems and a true believer that health is the new wealth and is anxious to share the journey his patients. Dr. Wall resides in Sumter.
